HOW IT ALL STARTED

This work grew from wanting to add to the visibility of Black American art in spaces where it hasn’t always been easy to find. While many Black artists are creating powerful work, I didn’t often see that work reflected on mainstream canvas platforms or in everyday home décor spaces.

I started creating the kind of art I wanted to see in my own home, art that felt familiar, affirming, and rooted in our lived experience. What began as a personal need grew into a commitment to contribute to that visibility, creating art that reflects who we are, where we’ve been, and the culture we’ve built here over generations.

FOR US, BY DESIGN

I’m intentional about who this work is for.

I’m not creating art to appeal to everyone or to be endlessly inclusive. This work centers Black American identity and experience, without dilution or explanation. It’s created with care, held with purpose, and meant to exist in spaces where it will be understood and valued.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Black American culture has too often been erased, flattened, or absorbed into narratives that don’t fully reflect us.

I create this work so our people, especially our children, grow up seeing themselves reflected as the standard, not the exception. This art exists to affirm presence, protect story, and make space for reflection where it’s long been missing.

MY PROCESS

Each piece begins as an original concept and is developed through a layered mixed-media process. I combine modern tools with hand-guided refinement to create work that feels considered and intentional.

Every order is made to order using premium materials, allowing the art the time and attention it deserves.

MY MISSION

My mission is to create intentional art that centers Black American culture and lived experience, while building space for our stories to be seen, valued, and reflected in the places we live.

MY VISION

I envision a world where Black American culture is represented honestly and consistently, not as a moment or a movement, but as a constant presence. This work is about creating art that lasts, carries meaning, and stays rooted in who we are.
